  7. INSTRUCTIONS
  8.  
  9. 4A Calculator is a math calculation program for Windows.  Much like a pocket
  10. calculator, 4A Calculator can be used to do basic math such as addition,
  11. subtraction, multiplication, and division.  In addition, like more
  12. sophisticated calculators, 4A Calculator is capable of performing percentile
  13. math, square root, square, and 1/x math.  Numbers and functions can be 
  14. entered by using the mouse, keyboard, or numeric keypad.

  17. INSTALLATION
  18. Place the file 4ACALC.EXE on any floppy disk, hard disk, or network
  19. drive.  Access to the file can be accomplished through Windows, OS/2 or
  20. the Windows shell program of your choice.  SINCE 4A CALCULATOR WAS WRITTEN
  21. USING VISUAL BASIC, THE FILE VBRUN200.DLL MUST BE ACCESSIBLE TO THE 
  22. WINDOWS SYSTEM.  VBRUN200.DLL can be found on CompuServe, America OnLine,
  23. most bbs systems, or directly from 4A Software.

  26. REGISTRATION AND LICENSE AGREEMENT
  27.  
  28. The use of 4A Calculator is subject to the following terms and conditions:
  29.  
  30. 4A Calculator is copyrighted material, protected by the copyright laws of
  31. the United States. You may not make any changes or modifications,
  32. decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse-engineer the software
  33. in any way.
  34.  
  35. 4A Calculator can be used on a trial basis provided the user does not
  36. violate the protection afforded the licensed software by the copyright laws, 
  37. and the user agrees to the terms of the license agreement. If the user
  38. continues to use 4A Calculator past a 30 day evaluation period the user is 
  39. obligated to purchase a license.

  41. 4A Calculator can be used on a Local Area Network provided that a license is 
  42. obtained for the number of users that may concurrently use the software.

  44. A license for the user of 4A Calculator can be obtained by sending the
  45. appropriate fee to:

  51. Title to the licensed software is NOT transferred to the end user. The 
  52. end user is granted an exclusive license to use the software on one
  53. computer at any given time.

  56. DISTRIBUTION
  57.  
  58. Users are granted a limited license to copy 4A Calculator only for the trial
  59. use by others subject to the terms of this software license agreement
  60. described herein, and the conditions described below are met:

  62. 4A Calculator MUST be copied in an unmodified form and MUST contain the
  63. following files:
  64.  
  65.    4ACALC  .EXE
  66.    CALC    .TXT
  67.    REGCALC .TXT
  68.  
  69. No fee, charge or other compensation may be accepted or requested by
  70. anyone without the express written permission of 4A Software.
  71.  
  72. Public Domain Disk Vendors, Shareware Disk Vendors and Distributors of
  73. public domain and user supported software may not charge a fee for 4A
  74. Calculator itself. However, you may include 4A Calculator on a diskette for
  75. which you charge a nominal distribution fee. The purchaser of said
  76. diskette must be informed in advance that the fee paid to acquire the
  77. diskette does NOT relieve said purchaser from paying the registration
  78. fee for 4A Calculator if said purchaser uses 4A Calculator.

  80. Operators of electronic bulletin board systems may post 4A Calculator for 
  81. downloading by their users without written permission only as long as
  82. the above conditions are met. A fee may be charged for access to the bbs
  83. as long as no specific fee is charged for downloading 4A Calculator files.

  86. LIMITED WARRANTY
  87.  
  88. 4A Software does not warrant that the licensed software will meet
  89. any requirements or that the operation of the software will be
  90. uninterrupted or error free. The warranty does not cover any media or
  91. documentation which has been subject to damage or abuse by you or others.
  92. The software warranty does not cover any copy of the licensed software
  93. which has been altered or changed in any way.
  94.  
  95. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANT ABILITY OR
  96. FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED TO THE TERM OF THE EXPRESS
  97. WARRANTIES. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied
  98. warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

  100. The warranties set forth above are in lieu of any and all other express
  101. or implied warranties, whether oral, written, or implied, and the remedies
  102. set forth above are the sole and exclusive remedies.

  104. 4A Software is not responsible for any problems or damages caused
  105. by the licensed software that may result from using the licensed
  106. software. This includes, but is not limited to, computer hardware,
  107. computer software, operating systems, and any computer or computing
  108. accessories. End user agrees to hold 4A Software harmless for any
  109. problems arising from the use of the software.

  111. 4A Software SHALL NOT IN ANY CASE BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, 
  112. INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR OTHER SIMILAR DAMAGES ARISING
  113. FROM ANY BREACH OF THESE WARRANTIES EVEN IF 4A SOFTWARE OR ITS AGENTS
  114. OR DISTRIBUTORS HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
  115. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
  116. consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply
  117. to you.

  119. In no case shall 4A Software's liability exceed the license fees
  120. paid for the right to use the licensed software.
